Decided its time to test out my ICD Link 2 which has been sitting in a box of bits for the last 5 months.

I'm after a SCSI CD Drive and SCSI Cable. Would prefer to find one in the UK so postage is cheaper.

Thanks

If you intend to plug it into the SCSI port on the back of the ST/STE, you do realise that's a non-standard SCSI port (it's ACSI) and has a non-standard sized connector, don't you?

Since you have the SCSI controller itself (which is the hard part to grab), the cable you really need is just a FEMALE Centronics to regular 50 pin SCSI.

But for comfort, I recommend you to grab an external SCSI CD unit. Or even an external HD case (or both!).

Good luck in your search!

BTW: external SCSI CD drives are common as mud and widely available. And even better: any External SCSI enclosure will fit your request.:)

hi i have a box of scsi cables if you can find a pic of what your wanting ill have a look for you i do have some scsi cases if they are any good

I know...that's why I have a ICD Link adapter :D

rkauer thanks for your help. I wasn't sure if I needed a certain type of CD drive. I'll keep an eye out for an external one as I'd prefer that.

Jimbob I'll find a picture and PM you it on RCM. Thanks mate

@BlackPanther: I'm not a fan of your computer line, but I respect it as part of the computer history.

And yes, any SCSI self-powered case will go smooth with your hardware. Check to grab one with the 25pin connector or a Centronics one. Better if the case have both.

Remember to terminate the SCSI chain and you'll have a reliable HD+CD behaviour. May not say the same for the other part.

i have a self powered case but it 80pin or 68 pin i think but i have a lead thats 50pin to 68/80pin and an 68/80 pin terminater

i will have a count up if you want

if this helps

ok just had the case open and it an 50 pin inside theres some cheep cdroms on the other bay i had one off there last month for the a1500

C/F to 50 sounds like something I might have and can give it to you.
If still interested allow me to search first to let you know for sure. I do have some 25/C50 SCSI's just not sure of the gender till I check. Let me know.
