SCSI hard drives suck!! Why the hell did Commodore and Apple work with them in the 80s and 90s ?

Anyway the crappy 40MB SCSI HDD i'm using in my A2000 died completely for me. I have another which is dead and i'm not going to remove the one i have in the Macintosh SE.

On the other bay 50 pin HDD's are hard to find and expensive.

80 pin are a little cheaper and easier to find. I have a 80pin to 50pin adapter, I think it was in some Mac or an external hard drive. Would one of those common(ish) 18GB / 9GB / 37Gb/ 73GB etc... 80pin drives work on the A2000 (Supra SCSI) using this ?

I have a 50 pin SCSI drive I'm no longer using. I think it's a 4gb, I'll have to check.

It's an IBM,

Type: DGHS,

*ECF23515*

*PN09OL0696*

DRV45S32151309

I'll connect it up to the PC tonight, check the size and make sure everything works OK.

I'll PM you later.

Thanks... Looking forward to your PM

I had some IBM's that came from an AS/400 I think .. before I could use them I had to go into the scsi controller utility to do a low level format .. just in case you run into the drive not working when testing it out :)

I have already formatted the drive for use in my CDTV so no need to worry there.

I haven't used it since I got a IDE/SCSI/CF setup so I need to check all is working before I part with it.
