Strange. Modchips don't usually make Saturns region free. They just let you play CD-R backups of your region.

You sure you've played JAP and USA discs? Without an Action Replay?

Theres a region free bios for the Saturn too - this allows imports.

You can also install a switchless region mod - holding reset will change the console region.

Also, theres the action replay style carts via the cart port that will allow region free too.

But definitely not what you and I would consider a modchip.


In this instance, its the Joytech cart that is allowing region free (like an action replay does)

Have you played games from another region without the memory card inserted? Because I am pretty sure it's the memory card making it region free and if you are selling separate, then the console won't play out of region.
