setting blank or save file disks on amiga floppy emulator?

So is there a way to set a disk as blank on a floppy emulator?

example, when I run Bards Tale it asks for a character disk which I assume is a blank floppy that parties got saved onto but I have no idea how to set a blank floppy up on the floppy emulator.

cant you get a floppy image duplicate it ,load it into a emulator,and simply format the disk???

would you believe that never occurred to me....I'm guessing that would work.

Would you also believe that it probably didn't occur to me because after years and years of using an Amiga I have never actually formatted a disk on one. never....most of my experience was when I was a kid so I never had to. All I ever did was play games on it and even that my dad never bought RPG's or anything that really required saving and when it did we had new blank disks...kind of crazy now that I think about it.

so...idiot question of the year. how do you format a floppy from workbench?
