As a last resort effort: is there any printer wizards out there? I have this neat ML-2525 Samung laser printer that I used for years, never gave me a headache, always been a reliable printing workhorse. Few weeks ago however it started acting up, and very randomly.

Nothing seems to be wrong when it prints, toner is good (according to driver sw) but it started to "reset" itself every once in a while, when receiving a print job. That is, when the job comes, it flashes 2 orange LEDs once, starts up the spoolers briefly, then it returns to idle like job well done. The print job also goes out from the Windows print queue like all is well.:mad:🤬🤬🤬Except, the thing doesn't fricking PRINT.:mad:🤬🤬 It used to happen sometimes, now I'm lucky if something prints after like 10-15 tries. It's like I'm printing to a black hole. Print->Gone. See video below.

Again, when it prints the print is fine, no fading or lines, nothing. It drives me nuts.😬😬

if it wouldn't print at all then it would be an easy decision, but it does, just I can't anticipate when Mr. Samsung is in the mood to do so. All I can do is mostly just wonder what sound it would make when it hits the pavement 5 floors below my hobby room window.:poop::poop:

Things I've tried:
Tried from another PC (with the latest driver) - Nope
Changed USB cable - Nix
Tried opening/closing all trays/service doors, reinserted toner etc - Nej
Tried loading different types and different quantities of paper - Niente
Tried googling and searching Samsung/HP support - Nada
Tried printing when the Moon was in a different phase - ʻAʻole

Anyone has any last resort ideas? Maybe someone has seen this before?

you should use the 5th window for all hp printers. and to be more precise, all printers.

out of despair id try to update firmware of the printer and use PostScript printer driver. but it's more fun to see it flying.

Except that it's a Samsung actually (my bad - sorry HP maybe you didn't design this)

i thought i read somewhere that HP bought Samsung's Printer division. anyway, the software for these printers is now available at HP's site.

Are you using the generic Windows drivers? Perhaps trying the Samsung Easy Printer Manager software may help identify the problem and give you an error code that you can look up here: Link

Failing that, there is always ..... Option C

Well according to the service training that double flash of LEDs only occurs when valid bitmap data is reset from the print engine buffer (RAM) due to CANCEL signal. But said buffer only holds valid bitmap data once the print spooler (PC, win driver side) has finished transferring the job to the printer firmware kernel. So if the CANCEL signal is stuck, then that reset will occur after receiving every print job, otherwise the printer just idles like everything is fine in between.

Good spot! Nice to see your ML-2525 is cured and is back up and running once more. I have the ML-1860 variant from Samsung and it is one heck of a solid workhorse.

My point exactly, toners are cheap too and last forever. Now how on earth did that button stuck I don’t know, I think I’ve never even used it except printing self diag a few times.. Alas here we are.

Okay so I guess we won't be seeing a flying printer on Youtube any time soon ;)

I've just googled it and pulled it from some random RU site.
