I have one more question.
My Amiga 1200 keys stopped working.
The keys that don't work are:
a s d f g h j k l : "
z x c v b n m < > ?
spacebar

I checked these keys in the bootmenu.
Has the keyboard foil damaged itself?

Static load can break the traces on the KB membrane. Can be fixed with conductive paint/glue or membrane replaced. Membranes avail on ebay and SellMyRetro

The keyboard worked perfectly, but something may have been damaged when I removed it from the keyboard connector on the Amiga 1200 motherboard.

And if I slightly cut the keyboard tape to about 1mm - 2mm and inserted it into the keyboard connector on the Amiga motherboard, maybe all the keys would work?
it is worth a try?

Just a question, if I cut the keyboard connector slightly, do I need to do anything else? Will these pins on the tape have contact?

Maybe time to get rid of the membrane and use a new keyboard PCB and you will be fine forever.

Ifyou still wan't to fiddle with the ribbon, i once get it back to work with a contact cleaner spray into the header, because it seems the problem was there that day instead of on the ribbon.

It might be also or just the key stamps itself which need a fresh graphite paint.

Check the end of the ribbon cable carefully for splits or damage.

Trimming off 1-2mm from the end of the cable has indeed cured problems in the past so you may as well try it and see if it helps. Use a craft knife or scalpel and cut as straight as possible (use a metal ruler).

If that does not help then as previously mentioned by Xanxi, it might be best to get a new keyboard PCB.

Good luck!
