HI Guys,
I have a newly built board which is amazing but I am having weird problems with cf cards.
I get the boot section working perfect but the secondary partition keeps throwing up sofware errors.

I have set the max transfer to 1fe00 as per instructions and tried other 4gb cards the one I am using is a lbd hi speed 120x the transcend 133x is just not running. I setup the disk in amiga Hdd setup after cleaning it in windoz to make sure there is no info left but the strange thing is once I create default setup using 3.2 and ffs the work partition is still intact and still throwing up software errors. I have never had problems with the CF drives before and wonder if its something I have screwed up and the old mother boards just get on with it?

I think for the last 20 years of being lazy I have gotten away with a lot so looking at the many setup web sites I am just getting old and slow. I believed that with OS 3.2.2.1 and the setup from 3.2 using FFS that would be OK!

Hmm… Just finished messing about with my ACILL and other bits for the past 3 weeks.
Now from what you have mentioned, you are using CF on IDE? I’m currently using SCSI but with SD cards. I also have acquired a 40 pin to SD card reader/Writer off eBay. This is using the onboard IDE header of the ACILL. As far as I can see no errors as you describe using Sandisk SD cards and the IDE or SCSI setups.
I am currently using AmigaOS 3.2.2.1. Now usually on this version the max Transfer is usually setup as 0x00FFFFFF as default. I also use the “PUBLIC” setting in HDToolbox that comes with AmigaOS 3.2+

On older HDToolbox such as 3.1 and 3.9 then the max transfer is usually setup to 0x001fe00. Now this should still work but is deemed a less speedier transfer method these days. But safe.

I do tend to use PFS3 Version 3.2 (Version 20.0 Beta 5) from Toni Willen’s thread over on EAB with great results.

It maybe worth posting up a pic or the full settings in HDToolBox of your full settings for analysis. Which version of FastFilesystem are you using?

Edit:

Some pics from my HDToolBox for reference:

the Acill is an amazing board and looks great with all the new gals and my original Customs I am thinking it is my fault. I normally use the Elbox fast ata v6.

If that was the case. Then in your startup-sequence it will be referencing it. I.e C:ATA
I would edit this out.
