Cheers amibayers,

Something happed today,
I moved my slot one setup, and After plugging everything in ...
I wont turn on, well i checked power and everything... removed battery from the board (sometimes it hibernates) nothing... no reaction at pushing the power button whatsoever , checked wiring ... everything seems fine..
I switched the psu off and waited a minute.. turnd it back on and there it goes... whitout pushing the pwr button (?) BUT: hardrive just goes to idle, dvd drive just lights permanent and the zip drive dosend even reacts ..
Pulled every cards and removed one of the rams dosend helped ether.. no screen no reaction

Then i removed the cpu and pulled the heatsink off.... i burned my finger at the cpu pcb.... smoked... roasted... toasted... dead... but what killed my cpu?,

The board or the cpu was just faulty? Im not shure if i can use the mainboard again .. i would like to but ... :help: :(

Or the mainboard knows that i already ordered another one and killed itself doh!

Unfortunately it may happen again, you need to check with oscilloscope if CPU power controller gives you proper voltage and oscillating properly. It will need a CPU for load. Many HIP controllers were going bad damaging CPU's. Look also for bulged caps. But it may be only CPU fault, who knows .

Well i got a scope... could you please so nice and point out the pins for cpu power?

have you got another CPU ?

I have this.

there are one or two wire inductors. On one side of it should have nice oscillations,on the other one stable voltage as set with jumpers or bios. Close to CPU.

photo or model of the main would be good...
