Very small and rare Sony Vaio laptop, only sold in Japan.

General specs, ports and conections:
- Transmeta Cruose CPU 867MHz, 512KB L2 Cache
- Windows XP Home Edition
- 6.4" XGA TFT Screen 1024 x 768 pixels @ 16M colors (up to 1600 x 1200 pixels via external port)
- 256 RAM (expandable to 384MB)
- 2x USB 1.1
- 2x Minijack audio IN/OUT ports
- PCMCIA Type II x 1 CardBus compatible
- Monitor OUT port
- Firewire Port (for the included DVD Drive or other accesories)
- Ethernet port
- Memory Stick slot

What's included:
- One original Sony battery. It lasts for a few minutes, due to its age. (The internal CMOS battery has little power due to age too, it can last some time but not for months)
- Original charger, suitable for 100-240V 50-60Hz, includes adaptor for European plug.
- CD/DVD Drive with Firewire port, cable included. The drive is bootable, I have used it for booting Windows installation media in CD and DVD, also for installing extra software. I haven't used it as a recorder, but the specs shows 10x write support for CD and 1x for DVD.
- Cable for external VGA output.
- Original CD recovery media. Manuals, papers from Sony and warranty.
- Original box.
- PCMCIA adapter for aditional 2x USB ports. I don't remember if this Vaio can reach USB2 speeds via this PCMCIA adapter, since I used the adapter in several laptops.

General description:
New thermal paste and internal cleaning in 2023.

Installed a 32GB Kingston Compact Flash via an 1.8inch IDE adaptor, it acts "like a SSD". (its original mechanical 20GB Toshiba Drive is also included)
The installed CF IDE needs a different HardDrive driver than the one installed by Windows. The OS can work without it, but it detects the CF as a removable media and It doesn't let you configure the virtual memory.
This driver is included in the Windows Desktop (no needed if you decide to install again the original 1.8inch mechanical drive).
The installed XP has this driver already applied and it's ready to use.

New installation of its own Windows XP license and software.
I copied a folder in the Windows Desktop with several device drivers (audio, etc). They are useful in case of a fresh Windows XP installation. I can send this folder to the buyer via link/email/etc.

Ghost image of an original XP installation (no Service Packs): https://archive.org/details/sony-vaio-pcg-u-1-windows-xp-japanese-oem-image
I can send a backup image of the actual fresh XP installation (ofifcial recovery + SP2 + SP3 + CF driver) (vía Download Link, quicker).
(The official recovery can be tricky. First of all due to the Japanese language. Also, the installer refuses to install on different media than the original mechanic hard drive. That's why these last backups images come in handy).

You can install another XP if you want, another license of your own, for example: If you want to use an English (or some other language) installation of Windows XP.
Obiouslly, you need some basic skills of Windows environments installations.
I have used it with another Windows XP of my own, but I have to sell it with the original japanese media due to licensing issues.

***I prefer to sell inside the EU, since the "last high value" sell that I did for the USA: too much paperwork and explanations for a "high" value (it was a 150€ value, but also any shipment greater than 50€, according to the shipping company). Overseas standard postal shipping was sloooow and almost "no tracking" once it leaves the EU. UPS and other companies have much higher prices nowadays... Sorry for this long explanation :) I needed to note it down ;)

Ok, thanks. Understood. I was at work and I couldn't take 100% attention. It seems that I forgot to write down the forum name when I took the photos.
