I'm in need of USA PS3, preferrably slim or super slim, must be in completely working and okay-ish external condition, size of HDD doesn't matter. No need for cables, manuals, controllers, games or any other bells and whistles, just a main unit as it will be used only as A-zone bluray player. Hit me with your best offer including cheapest shipping option to Finland, I'm also willing to take a risk with untracked shipping on my own expense as I'm aiming for as cost reductive solution as possible. Payment via Paypal. Thanks in advance!

@romppainen , Can I ask why you want a US one when they are region free for PS3 games?

unless you want it for Blu-ray and DVD but the ps3 is a lot easier to jailbreak now making them again region free (Just read this is the reason lol)

I would understand on the original Phat 60gb US versions because they can play PS2 games which are region locked and like the Jap version are equipped with the Emotion chip unlike the first European released 60gb version which ps2 compatibility was software emulated.

My Jap 60gb console is jailbroken which made it region free for all PS1,PS2, Blu ray & DVD

Just reread your post and seen the reason note to self read twice then post ?

I've attached a picture of the custom firmware page where you can set the region on a jailbroken PS3.
Last time I checked superslim couldn't be jailbroken but most slims could be (not all)

Hehe, things happen ?

I'm indeed aware of jailbreaking possibilities, I just don't have need for all that stuff they allow. Like said games are regionless and I already have european PS3 for that purpose, what comes to downward compatibility I have also PS2 hacked to run basically anything fed in except maybe round slice of bread. Also, changing drives region/zone manually every now and then depending of current need is a big no-no to me. I just want stock thing to plug in and use for those A blus I have collected over years.

just to add the NTSC PS3 60GB got the full hardware backward compatibility, which has 99.9% PS2 compatibility, while the PAL PS3 60GB got half hardware (80%).

I see confusion surrounding this all the time, but the PAL 60GB lacks the Emotion Engine and relies on software emulation for that chip. (as Timtheloon stated -) (y)
