Hello!

due to recent upgrades I am selling my trusty X-Fi card :)
I had bought it from eBay on a bulk/oem(?) package, all stuff was new inside the brown box shown in the pic.
The remote and midi cables were never used , the pic of the 5.25" "livedrive" really makes it worse that it is  (it ireally is in like-new condition, my tower has a front door and it was almost always sealed behind it) and the card itself is in excellent working and visual condition.

  • a 3.5mm stereo jack adapter (used optionally on the drive)

What an awesome card! I had that in the past and it rox!!!

Good luck with your sale bro \o/

Is it Vista/Win 7 compatible? I remember their being issues when these OSs were new due to the changes in how Windows handles audio drivers. Was that resolved?

x-fi cards are vista and 7 compatible with drivers for both 32 and 64bit OS
EAX was the thing that was not working for older games due to the changes in OS, but creative has an app called OpenAL that works transparent to the user and brings back EAX for those old games. Needless to say new EAX5.0 games work out-of-the-box without the need of any app....

If I connect the midi interface that I have for my amy to this, I can play midi files through the PC from the Amy? :P

Never tried my midi interface. it's even in it's original package - unopened. So I have no prior experience with the technology. Just have an idea that one day I'll use it for something fun.

@moijk: Midi files are not actually 'transfered' through the Midi interface. Look at every computer as if it were another musical instrument. The pc can play a sequence (song), and through Midi gives order to the Amiga to play some/all tracks with it's own sounds. (that's vice-versa too).
Functions are only limited by your gear. eg Amiga is 4-sound capable, although with trickery it has managed 8-sound polyphony.

yeah I don't know if you can do that moijk but I know for sure that you can connect an external midi module on the x-fi i/o drive and make it play your midi songs instead of the x-fi... you can even get a roland module like the mt-32 , connect it there and configure dosbox to play midi through there , nothing beats Monkey Island on a roland synth :)

since there is a lack of interest I am closing the sale and will decide later what to do with the card...
thanks! :)
