Spectrum +2 not loading games - any advice

Hi

Ive been getting my old computers that have been stored at my mums house and tested them as I go along.

Ive got a Spectrum +2B which Im sure used to work but no longer loads games.It gets power, rewinds and forwards and plays. The tape spins but I get no sound on no bars on the side of the screen.

Sounds do come out of the system when trying test commands in basic.

Ive opened it up and the belt seems to be fine (but im no expert). Before I get a replacement belt, does anyone know wheat else I could try?

have you tried cleaning the head?

by the way,which one is it,is out a grey or black one.


so basically,it dont even find the name of the game?

Hi roy its a black +2b

It doesnt load anything. Ive cleaned the head. Could it be the belt?
