*Shipment to United States is resumed:
Now European courier shipment meets the requirements of Executive Order 14324, which requires the seller to declare the goods as commercial merchandise, collect import taxes, and submit them to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
But the shipment is obviously more expensive, but it includes all U.S. customs taxes and the additional cost of processing a shipment as commercial merchandise, as required by current U.S. law.*
Atari ST, Atari STE solution for bad DMA - Turns your current DMA into a Good DMA easily
#### What is it?
This board helps users suffering from bad DMA issues, that corrupt hard disk contents at write.
This PCB converts a C025913-38 DMA chip to a C398739-001A DMA chip
A solution researched and developed by R^2 , 12 MHz,
also this authorship text can be found in the documentation:
Written by Christian Zietz with support from the ThunderStorm team – Version as of 2023-04-22
#### Installation
The PCB is designed to extract your current DMA chip, and place it over this PCB.
As well, the PCB can be installed in an easier way, this PCB can be installed on top of the DMA chip,
look at the photo gallery, first photograph corresponds to this installation method (tested by Cwiss user)
According to the question of an user and the answer of this solution developer (12 MHz) :
Cwiss user ask:
"presumably you could just solder it on top of the DMA chip instead? Is there any reason not to do that?"
12 MHz answer:
"A very unusual idea.
But yes, it will also work that way. You can solder the DMA-Changer on top of the DMA-chip.
The pins must be connected 1 to 1."
#### Why did you make it?
Some of these were manufactured to help users of the hard disk unit,
whose ST/E computers are suffering from bad DMA chip (C025913-38).
Using this PCB, the issues are solved for these users.
After the initial manufacturing, some boards and components remained,
and more units can be manufactured.
#### What makes it special?
Now, the main reason of the Bad DMA issue arises to surface, thanks to the research performed by R^2 , 12 MHz
With this device, which can be soldered over your current DMA chip,
you can solve Bad DMA issues without need to replace your DMA chip.
