I just found this pretty rare digital to analogue joystick converter from STC.
STC is the maker of the famous Arcade joysticks and I myself have never seen one like this.
I just tested it on a windows '98 machinewith a game and everything worked with an arcade joystick, up, down, left, right, fire.
You can correct the horizontal en vertical axes with the two knobs on the box.
