Hi all,
I am testing some crossword puzzle programs. I have made a "test" page with Amiga history Here.http://www.amigalounge.com/test.html
All answers were from the book "on the Edge"
let me know what you think.
Its for a new Amiga Newsletter I am putting together, but I am testing different software. :coffee:

Re: Test Amiga Crossword up

I had a look at the test Amiga crossword puzzle page but unfortunately the page didn't work properly in IBrowse. :(

I am REEEEAAALY sorry about THAT!
I don't think the program EVER even considered IBrowse a vaild browser.
I know any "I" product (or phone browser) is so far off my radar, I couldn't even begin to test one, for internet access through a phone will cost you more than a house here in Canada. I think Rogers wants $1000 / K. If I even THINK about pressing the browser button on my phone, it costs over $100.

Re: Test Amiga Crossword up

The page is made in Java, that's why it don't work.

I'm stuck only in three questions... The bad word for the CDTV, the blonde idiot and the A600's nick... :pissed:

Cool puzzle - works fine on Safari 4.1 on my MacBook...

Must admit I know much less than I thought I did!

Very nice crossword script.

Anyway this could utilise a timer, score and possibly a hiscore list? ;)

... and maybe something to stop you putting a wrong answer in, just because it has the right number of letters?

Re: Test Amiga Crossword up

Hmm... seems you have some spelling mistakes in the crossword?

Porita instead of Portia

Angus instead of Agnus

for example. ;)

Opps, I will fix that right now, it has a few other things also, but this is just one program, I am testing a few more. I want to find one that is simular to the newspaper ones, that I can print out in a newsletter.

Re: Test Amiga Crossword up

Ok, its fixed now, causing it to re-do the whole puzzle.
there is a printable version here now too http://www.amigalounge.com/test1.html :woot:

I did not want to make it too easy, but if you have the book, you can almost go page by page through the Amiga chapters and find the answers.

Re: Test Amiga Crossword up

HINT 1 for those that are stuck
page 524, paragraph 5

"Although most people assumed that the CDTV meant Compact Disk Television, Commodore marketing stated it stood for Commodore Dynamic Total Vision. People started calling it exactly how the name sounded: SEEDY TV."

HINT 2
Page 534 Paragraph 3
"The Engineer's took thier frustration out on the Amiga 600 by calling it the Amiga Junior, in reference to Sydnes' previous bomb. Bil Herd, who remained friends with Greg Berlin, recalls the period. "Supposibly, there was a memo from Sydnes that said, 'The Next person that calls it the Amiga Junior get's fired'" he says."

As for the last one, I cant give you all the answers, perticularly this one, as it may offend some MAC people.
