I recently installed a Terrible Fire 534 68030 50MHz accelerator to my 500+ with Kickstart 3.1.4 (2018). Now many of the games, demos and software won't work. Does anyone know how to fix this? Theres no point having an accelerator if the software doesnt work! Workbench says something about a library but why would this affect booting something from floppy or an adf on a CF? I hope someone can help. Thank you.

Are these not installed when installing the Workbench onto the CD drive? Assuming I do this, how does a program loading from floppy know that the library files now exist on the CF card tht is being used as a hard drive? I find this a little confusing.

Not all libraries are installed along with Workbench. Think of it more like an add-on or upgrade, much like your Terrible Fire card is.

When the hardware goes looking for certain files and is able to locate them, there is nothing more for you to do - the system will load and utilise them without user intervention.

Bear in mind, most if not all bootable floppy games generally use their own routines and are not subject to using any libraries etc on the HD or CF. It's mainly those that are loaded from Workbench which may need them.

Thanks for explaining that. Your help is much appreciated and I'll give it a try.

I copied the 68030.library and the mmu.library to LIBS but then the system would not start. When I booted manually I saw that the part of the startup-sequence that caused the problem or errors was the SetPATCH command. It was set to QUIET as standard but I set it to NOCACHE and it still had the problem. If I left clicked the CPU detection still stated that there was no library found. Im really stuck with this now. Does anyone know what it could be?

I read the instructions and readme that came with the MMU library but didnt find anything specific to my problem.
