So when my MKII from stachi finaly arrived today i was happy like a litle bunny on crack but as always when it comes to Amiga happynes never last.

Changed the jumpers on the 3000T and inserted the card, BLACKSCREEN.

Removed the card and checked the jumpers again, still black screen.
Removed all the expansion cards ( prometheus) still black screen.

Removed the MKII and tried to get this damn thing to boot from the 030, nothing , still a black screen.
Removed all the chip that can be removed and inserted them again, still black screen.
Checked the PSU (not under load) and all the voltages where correct.

So what do i now? This damn thing worked yesterday so why not now?
The power LED is not glowing at 100% it is a bit dimed down and there is no sound from the floppy or any tried to boot from the scsi CF reader.

Have tried with only the Motherboard connected but still the same.

Here is a high res pic of the motherboard,

If you look at the cpu slot you have
J100
J102
J103
J104

Atlest i think J104 is there next to J102, the jumper next to the J102 have no name on it.

Putting back ROM (kickstart) chips might help

The Motherboard on the picture is not mine, just wanted to add a high ress photo so ppl can see what they are dealing with.

Edit: Does any one know where J101 is ? or J104?

Could you just tell us if you have a full black screen (meaning no signal to your screen or very black screen) or very dark grey screen ?

I can try to take a picture of my jumpers with an Apollo 4060 fitted in (which I think are the same as the CSMKII : INT). Unfortunately I cannot give you the stock jumpers settings as my Apollo needs a hack and without the Apollo connected, there is no way to boot from the 030. AFAIR only one jumper has to be moved, the one near the FPU jumper.

The monitor powers up but display just a pitch black screen and the power led on the amiga is ver dim, like it did not recive enoufe current :-(

Seems like the computer is halted on an early stage of the power on cycle.

Move the tick source jumper to the other position.

Jumper settings:

060
100 3-4
102 1-2
104 1-2
103 2-3

040
100 3-4
102 2-3
104 2-3
103 1-2

030
100 1-2
102 2-3
104 1-2
103 2-3

If you see the VCC horizontal, then J102 is below left corner, J104 below right of it, J100 directly on the right, and J103 upper far right corner.

Make sure J851 is set 1-2 25Mhz

Have tried all the configurations and still no life :(

if memory serves me correctly, the circiut is to the right of the super buster.have a look at the sn74ls08n and ep8700.

I will throw this out there just in case...

Double check and make sure the ROM chips are in the correct sockets.

If you put them in the wrong order you will get this result also.

What exactly am i supose to do with them?

you could try replacing them, there cheap parts:)

The SN74ls08N is located in U103 or it should be, i do not have that chip in the socket, its empty and it is not needed.
There are just some accelerators that need this chip

I gues i have two options.

1. Wait untill anthony gets home from work again ( about 1 year from now)
2. Sell the case and other parts and buy myself somthing else.

Cant belive it, the ******* 3000 just booted.

I changed the J102 to 1-2 instead of 2-3 and it just fierd up.

Using
J100 1-2
J102 1-2
J103 2-3
J104 2-3

How come it only works when J102 is at 1-2 with the internal CPU?
I have not seen one singel person with that at 1-2

hey dont knock if it works now:lol: maybe it was just a bad jumper.

I think its wird, i have followed all the guids and pointers left on the forums and these are the jumper settings every one say will work.

060
100 3-4
102 1-2
104 1-2
103 2-3

040
100 3-4
102 2-3
104 2-3
103 1-2

030
100 1-2
102 2-3
104 1-2
103 2-3

and as you can see J102 is almost always at 2-3 so i did not change that, but now when i just gofed around with it one last time before selling it off i just tried some random settings and it worked.

Cant understand why :)
