It's been a while since I've posted (new job scramble and all), so I thought I'd say hi and share a random thought I had.
Remember those old Zorro boards with a hard drive attached and RAM?
I always wanted one of those, although in later PC-oriented years it seemed a little odd to do it that way.
However, there is a sort of a comeback for these things:

Granted that flash isn't QUITE the same as DRAM or SRAM, (or SDRAM or all points in between) but isn't that OCZ board awfully similar to say an Octagon 2008 or Commodore 2091?
