Hello Retro Users

This Micronik Infinitiv Tower Ive had for a while now, but I've never really got around to getting it properly setup

Now this system is fitted with the Micronik 6860 Rev. 6.8 Busboard which is very unique because it allows the installation of an A4000 Accelerator

So I installed a Warp Engine 040 40MHz

The installation of an A4K accelerator allow the zorro bus at zorro III spec

Currently I have a Picasso IV fitted and I can also ustilise the PicassoIV's Scandoubler/Flickerfixer due to having the correct Video Slot enabler for this Busboard.

Im usilising an SF2SCSI for the HD at the moment fitted to the Warp Engines SCSI the Busboard its self also has SCSI but the Warp Engine SCSI is faster.

I also have a DKB 3128 fitted with 128mb to bring the fastram memory total to 256mb

Still a few updates to go when I get the parts

I will say these Busboards are fussy and a card in the wrong slot can take the system down.

Give it an AmigaOS 3.2.3 upgrade

The case sadly has alot of yellowing so It will need a retrobright at some point

Very nice, bud, that my my very first Amiga Tower attempt! I was never able to get it going probably as I was using an Apollo 1240, i always heard the work better with A4k accelerators

I always heard the work better with A4k accelerators
It is fussy about A4K Accelerator too like it didn't like alot of them that I tried 😆

If I put a prelude in it the computer wont boot

It also doesn't like the CV64/3D scandoubler no picture seen.

Now this I haven’t seen before or knew you could do. Very nice effort. I’m guessing without the aid of a Buster chip that you would find in a A4000, then this is why it maybe picky on cards etc…
Had one of those plastic fantastic cases once. They were very creaky 😬

I Like & Dislike the case yes its definitely Creaky and wish it was made out of something more durable

Yeah it must be them 4 x Xilinx ICs that hold the card info I did try a BFG9060 It worked but not perfectly

Yes I found this out at the start of my Amibay career 😆

I have two of these busboards the one pictured which is a rev 6.8 and I also have a rev 6.7

Nice stuff!

Wasn't aware that this is possible!!!

"So I installed a Warp Engine 040 40MHz"

I shall try it by myself....
The manual keeps mentioning Cyberstorm boards. Looks to be the most compatible. Recommends using the 060/PPC to get the most out of the system 👍🏻

The Cyberstorm MK 2 works well but I only have 1 working one of them 😆 and it is in my Elbox A4KD Alice build.

I find the Warp Engine to be very stable in this machine. I need a 040 to 060 adapter, which fits this version of the Warp Engine. I'm finding the 040 too slow, for my liking 😆.

One thing I have found is I cant access the Picasso IV's boot menu when holding down either of the shift keys, this must be something that the big box amigas can only do?

This infinitiv Tower does have it Amiga 1200 Keyboard case too and I also tried an original Amiga Keyboard but still no luck.

Yeah the zorro mode on the busboard is like a ZII+ or something

Its definitely Zorro III it show that on the the system show config I believe the DKB 3128 is a zorro III only card too it just says they are slower that the zorro 3 slots on the A3K and A4K on Amiga Resource.

I cant find anything about the boot menu in the Picasso IV manual I must be blind 😆

I found info about it it in the Conceirto Manual but I will try it in Zorro II mode to see if that lets me access the Picasso IV boot menu

is there away of testing Zorro card Speeds?

I still can't access the PIV card boot menu even with the card set to Zorro II and I've tried both of the shift keys.

This is the info in the Concierto manual I think having it set to Zorro II mode is an A2000 with kickstart 1.3 thing, if I'm reading it correctly.

This is what Show info displays when set to Zorro II

Yes up to the latest 7.5 update (I believe thats the last one)

I think its just this busboard that doesn't allow it to register the shift key being pressed I will try it in another bigbox Amiga to confirm one day.

Impressive!

I've sort of regretted not getting the Z-3i when I bought my Inifinitiv back in, uh, 1998-ish. I went with the cheaper Z-1i with just a Zorro II bus, which was fine for networking but not so great for graphics throughput.

Anyway, I find it interesting that you got it to work with 3.2.3, as I've had some issues with my board and 3.2.2. Basically the cards just don't show up unless I softkick down to 3.1 and take it from there. Do you know if yours works with the 3.2.3 ROMs even without the A4k accelerator?
