Im trying to find a steering wheel for an xbox 360.
I found out theres the official 1 (expensive)
and a madcats mc2 microCon (also expensive)
and a logitech fx racing wheel (probably expensive 2 but cant find one for sale)

I really dont want to spend lots on the thing. But it needs to work properly for the forza games. "pressure sensitive peddals"
I gave up on most steering wheels ages ago because the peddals were generaly 100% throttle/break or 0%.

so if any of you have some steering wheels or have used some for the 360, and can recomend which is the best id like to know.
I think the logitech one seems like a good idea as it has force feed back. but the mc2 also seems viable. Havent heard much about the official one though.

i;ve still got one madcatz micro one and its a decent enough wheel, no force feedback though. last time i looked HMV in leeds were selling new ones for about £30.

i recently sold my other madcatz one to cashconverters but that was a non micro version, was massive and had a gearstick too, i dont really rate that one as much as the smaller one, pedals and wheels just not quite as responsive (and the vibrating sounded like trumps).

my brother has the original official MS one and thats a really good wheel too (just ridiculously expensive), i've yet to try the new wireless one

Why can't there be decent, reasonably priced all-in-one solution. There's only the rdiculoysly overpriced Fanatec or some toys that pretend to be racing wheels. A Logitech G27 that is compatible with all systems and a hundred euros cheaper would be ideal.

I am a fanatic racer and when i had a xbox360 the only good affordable one was the original xbox 360 one (with the pedals). They are not made anymore though so harder to find. Get the wireless one if you can.

The madcatz one is way lesser quality and the higher end wheels run you about 300 bucks +

Try and get a Microsoft one, best bang/quality for your buck

microsoft wheel is very good and £70 at Game:nod:

As justin said. I've got this setup at home with the official Microsoft Wheel. Force feedback on it is wicked. Makes Forza 4 much more of an experience.

Cos you haven't asked...

I got Forza 4 for my birthday a couple of weeks ago Justin, once i've had a chance to test it out i'll happily race you (sorry that should be lose to you).

lol wanna race?

gamertag juvuk:p

I'll add you in a bit duder. Just for reference my gametag is (for real)

StridentW*nksox

I have forza 1 (original xbox) forza 2 and forza 3. i dont have forza 4 yet, but if i find a wheel that comes with forza 4 reasonably priced il get that.

Im also only running a 1 month free trial xbl thing but my gamertag is
Shambles1980xbs
No idea who stole shambles1980 lol. (maybe it was me on some other console i was selling i dont remember lol)

I have managed to track down some official 360 wireless wheels 2nd hand for "£really reasonable£"
whcih is great because all the others were
"£are you serious i could get a 2nd hand car for that£"

problem is now i have to wait for replies.
During my exploration though i found out that technically only 2 steering wheels come with true force feedback.
The MS official 1 "which was disscontinued.. and has No stock left any where"
and the GT2...
The logitech, Madcats and the trustmaster ones come with rumble but no FFB
So turns out because im not made of money, and id realy prefer to get one with FFB 1st rather than get 1 without and decide i need the FFB, that my only option is the official MS 360 wireless FFB Wheel. and the :censored: Discontinued them in favour of some :censored: speeder wheel thing with no peddals.

Looks like i chose the wrong week to give up whisky. I mean try to buy a steering wheel. "im not giving up my whisky"

[edit]
Turnns out mad katz released a wireless force feedback officialy licenced xbox 360 wheel about nov 2011!!
Slightly on the expensive side of things. but actually priced the same as people were asking for 2nd hand official xbox wheels, and apparantly the new mad katz is as good/better so It could be good news for my search after all. I cant see 2nd hand item's being the same cost as a new alternative that is better. so atleast prices arent going to keep going up at the least even if they dont start coming down soon.

The RRP on them is susupisiously similar to the price it seems people were willing to pay for a second hand 360 wheel though..
Makes me wonder if they were just wating to see what they could realistically expect gamers to pay for a officialy licenced force feed back wheel before they re introduced one to the market.
now would they do something like that and realse it just b4 christmast
"looks like they did, but apparantly the ad campaign totaly missed every one, including retailers lol"
