Hi all, i received three PS1 consoles from RED IMPACT today. I kept one for myself and these two didn't read discs. I have swapped out the lasers with some spares i had and that made them work. While i had them open i discovered they had modchips installed. I don't know what code the chips are but they seem to work fine with both PAL and NTSC games without the need for boot disks.
So now i have the spare two consoles for sale as bundles. Both machines will come with a memory card, dualshock controller (the white one from the smaller PSOne), RF Cable (Highly recommend getting an RGB scart), Power Cable & 5 original games, first come first served (see list below).
First up is a SCPH-5502
As above will come with memory card (this is one a 2mb which can be switched by holding Select+R2), controller, rf cable, power cable & 5 original PAL games from the list below.
In clean condition, has an expansion port on the back but is missing the cover. Tested with both PAL and NTSC games. NTSC games show in black and white due to the RF cable. An RGB scart will allow these to work in colour.
Second is a SCPH-9002
Again, will come with a memory card (1mb in red and case is cracked), controller, rf cable, power cable and 5 original PAL games.
Again in clean condition and tested to work with both PAL and NTSC games. NTSC games do show in colour on this one but i would still recommend getting an RGB Scart cable for much improved picture quality. This one does not have the expansion port on the back.
10 Original PAL games (5 to go with each console, first come first served).
Most cases are cracked/broken. I haven't checked which games have manuals but all discs do work.
