Derbys.
Here we have a C64G, I think. The console is believed to be in working condition, and you can see a picture here.

I'll ask £8 + P&P, but you can make me a near offer :)

Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!
:eek:veractor:
Good catch, Merlin. :) I really want a 64G at some point because, as far as I know, they were never sold in the USA and more difficult to find because of it.

If for some reason you don't get it, I'd like to be next in line. :D Not holding my breath though.

They are more robust than the original breadbin and IIRC they have the later SID chip in them.

I thought the C64G was only available in Germany through the Aldi chain of stores, but I could be wrong.

Merlin might be thinking of:

Aldi's C64 This C64 model was named after a German “nickle-and-dime” supermarket chain, and so it only appeared in Germany. Furthermore, Aldi stores were the only ones to sell the unit. Interestingly, Aldi's C64 were manufactured in the US, and had the usual brown breadbox shell, but they were no different, with the exception of the white keys that the C64 had.

Aldi's C64 lacked a 9V on the user port, which affected hardware that was attached there, but while some units do indeed have this limitation repaired, many did not.

Merlin just called me to say he has a problem with his PM's at the moment but he has asked me to inform you that he withdraws his interest in this item and that it is only fair to offer the item to the next in line.:run:

Edit: I am actually completely off my trolley and am discussing out of my bottom; please ignore me completely.....just ask my invisible friend over there.....

On the grounds that Merlin has just confessed to dementia, does that make me next in line? :ninja:

just get the feeling this one's an Aldi..........

Look at the keys: all the symbols are on top of them. The "Aldi" in the picture is different. I may be wrong, but it really looks like a breadbin with a keyboard from a 64C. Not a "G" for sure.

Edit: it'd be nice to see a picture of the label under the unit!

The Aldi ones had a few keyboard combinations as they were using up stock. The giveaway is the colour of the case, it's not the original breadbin beige.

If I'm right, it's got an 8580 SID chip in it, it will have crappy sound (easily fixed though :)) and have the German 64G label underneath.
