Twin kickstart machines have have half the code in each chip, so I was looking for a switcher that could use this "advantage" to fit more roms in or use lower cost storage. I could not find one so I created one and in the process I have spare boards and parts lying around.

*******Buyer must prove ownership of Kickstart ROMs to be flashed via PM*******

-42 pin
-A500 rev5 jumper
-Optional pull-up resistors (rev5 requirement)
-Low profile
-Use jumpers or route to a switch

-29F800 1Meg flash= 4 x standard kickstart or 2 x custom big kickstarts on twin kickstart machines, half that on single kickstart machines.

or

-29F160 2Meg flash= 8 x standard kickstart or 4 x custom big kickstarts on twin kickstart machines, 4 and 2 on single kickstart machines.

*I believe A1200 & A600 can use "big" (1Meg) kickstarts out of the box, but you need mods on everything else, (not sure about A500+ / Rev8??)

I can leave off Pin 1 and Pin 42 if you want to use this in 40 pin sockets

I have a bunch of boards and parts that I need to get rid of, this is not a money making venture! Parts will be built to order as per your requirements, sometimes I will be on holiday and things!


Cost is around (depending on options) £35 for a PAIR of 1Meg, or £45 for a PAIR of 2Meg

With the "29F160 2Meg flash" it gives you 2 Meg. Everything after V1.4 was 512kb so you'll get 4 "normal" kickstarts.

Oh, I didn't realise I needed to do a thing, I'll investigate! Yes I still have plenty of boards and chips, i'm skiing next week so no action for a bit. Do you want 29f160 2meg chips = 8 std roms in an a1200 or 29f800 (half the size) I have both in the man cave.
