This is not a Rant, but a cautionary warning that UPS has automatically begun to add the Import Duty Code (HS) for parts containing Russian Aluminum to imports from the UK (an A1200 case) and 3 TF1232s from Canada at a value of 200% of the import value. It took me on the phone to a non-English speaker from 10 AM until 4 PM to finally receive the Excel Dispute form to fill out - attached here. In the latter import of the TF1232s, it specified "Computer parts - NO RUSSIAN ALUMINUM."
There has been no explanation from UPS, nor resolution of these issues to date, however in the form there is a "follow this example" statement about falsely applied Russian Aluminum. The server refuses to attach direct ".xlsm" files, so as noted, remove this extension. The email instructions are:
"Download and open the attached Excel file
1. Review the field definitions provided in the spreadsheet
2. Complete all required information for each shipment
3. Send the completed excel file and attach all required substantiation documentation to the new email address provided gbapostentrydesk@ups.com"
