I have an opportunity to possibly repair a faulty HP LP1740 flatscreen monitor that is earmarked for disposal at work. The symptoms of the fault are that the screen constantly displays 'OSD Lockout' and then the screen adjustment menu, however, the screen adjustment buttons don't work; it's as if one of them has jammed in the 'on' position.
From a bit of searching the Web, it appears that the tactile buttons inside the bezel that djust the screen aren't great quality and that this is a common fault on HP 17xx and 19xx series monitors.
They look just like a button you'd find inside a computer mouse; however, they are mounted at 90 degrees to the PCB and I'm looking for a source for these buttons.
I'm guessing that they are 6mm square, 90 degree PCB mount tactile buttons, but knowing the correct description would help me locate a source for them and maybe a part number.
Can anyone help me out here?
