I'd desperately like to purchase this mod for my VIC too please if you have a change of heart. Even if you had to put the price up due to scarcity of parts or time I'd have one in a heartbeat. Thanks.

It's not the parts, but simply my level of patience (and eyesight) to fiddle around soldering now. You can quite easily make this yourself too, I posted instructions on the VIC20 forum DENIAL long before I offered to build here.

In short, separate the 6561 PIN #2 from the board (eg lift out of socket and bend out, reinsert into socket). Attach to the bent out pin a 104 ceramic capacitor and 360 ohm resistor. The standard video out is now only LUMA, the output on the pin is CHROMA.

Hey thanks for that. I don't know much about electronics but can follow instructions :D

Do the capacitor and resistor get fitted in series or parallel?

Also if I was connecting to 1084 monitor with RCA plugs would the connections go to the middle pin or outer ring?

Thanks.

Hi, thanks for the info. Just because I am ignorant, for 104 do you mean 0.1uF? Which voltage must be the capacitor? and which wattage must be resistor? I don't know if any value is ok or not. On ebay the the most of the capacitors are 50V and I don't think that a VIC20 have any of this voltage around, and about the resistor, they are offered in 1/2W, 1/4W, 1W or bigger. So I am confused (I suppose like many others).
Thank you for your help

The ceramic capacitor and resistor need to be in serial. Regarding the voltage and wattages..... We are speaking about max 5v and probably less. The smallest wattage is more than sufficient.
