Okay,

I have had water in my ear since tuesday. It wont come out.

I have tried everything, but it apparently sticks well. It hides behind some ear wax.

I have some drops that are supposed to deal with the wax, but no dice.

Even today, I was free diving, and the water got smart, came not and swapped place with some other water.

I'm open to suggestions, amputation?

Also, Daniel my son asked a question I couldn't answer. How do they know which colours dinosaurs had, and how sure can they be?

Any help will be appreciated, with priority on the dinosaur issue:) :)

My ear will dry out, one way or the other:)

get your ear syringed.

Dinosaurs colouration is only best guessed based on environment that the dino lived in, it's behaviour (ie hunter, scavenger, veggie etc) and by using the colourization of reptiles alive today as reference.

Pour some alcohol in your ear, it will eat the wax and free the water.

Or get your son to use a sink plunger! ;)

As for dinosaurs, they now think that many didn't look anything like they have been depicted to date, due to finding fosols that shows some were covered in feathers.

They can tell the colour of certain extinct animals because they have been found trapped in amber, or in ice. But generally these are very small. Mammoths being the exception as they have perfectly preserved specimens of them.

On the Dinosaur question, we don't truly know the color of most Dinosaurs, but we have found several species in a mummified state with enough skin intact with coloration to know what they looked like. These few species include 4 different types of Hadrosaurs and a Pachycepalasaur. There are two more, but I can't remember them from my Paleontology classes.

As a person who has suffered with this for many years, the only sure fire way is to see your doctor, get some drops to soften the wax, then have them syringed.
It sounds terrible, but is a painless and easy procedure that will flush all the wax out of your ears and you'll be able to hear things like echos for the first time in years!
I wouldn't recommend pouring Alcohol into your ears, the ear drum is a very sensitive piece of kit, and the wax when it hardens is very difficult to remove.
Olive oil is a good alternative.

@everybody :)

Re: dinosaurs.
Daniel listened with water free ears wide open as I read him your answers. Bente too infact:)

Re: water in my ear

I think that I will let time and gravity be my friends. After the drops I have been taking, they feel much better, not water free, but getting there. I suspect that the drops I have been taking are medicinal alcohol.

When we talked about dinosaurs earlier today, then we thought that the colours we see depicted on then was mostly educated guess work. Glad to see that we weren't that ear off.

It's fun to have serious conversations with an 11year old. Even more fun when we speculate in pure nonsense. Like what would happen to the earth in all insects jumped at the same time and synchronized their impact to coenside?

First on one earth, world wide, then on a second one, on one hemisphere. Both theoretical, as he'd like to keep this one.

RE Dinosaurs: Wot Juv said ^^

RE ur Ear: Warm some Olive oil on a Teaspoon. Test with finger before pouring in ear. Massage ear to help penetration. The oil will displace the water.

I can second this one.
I constantly have problems with wax build up in my ears, and warm olive oil help break down the wax.

Thank you, Charlie,it's getting better. The other day a specialist vaccumed it, and I'm treating it with drops for a mild outer ear infection. But it's almost entirely good now.
