Hi all, I'm Stephen based in Brisbane Australia.

I recently started down an Amiga rabbit hole of re-discovery. I'd owned an Amiga 500 in 1989 when I was in high school and then a 2000 HD around 1992. Ah how I wish I'd kept that beautiful machine.

In the early 2000s someone purchased a 1200 which had been new stock sitting in a warehouse for years, tinkered with it for a while and added a 2.1gb hard drive, MB1200z and PCMCIA network card then put it on EBay in 2002. I was lucky enough to win this but after receipt I'd used it for a few hours and then packed it up and life got in the way and it has been stored ever since. 23 years on I've pulled it out of storage and it's whet my appetite for all things Amiga again. I have a polymer capacitor kit on the way and hoping to find a nice cpu upgrade card. Unfortunately the Warp 1260 guys aren't replying to my emails and whilst TF stuff looks pretty nice I'd really like an RTG option. The machine is really nice especially after added an IDE->CF adapter with 32gb running WB3.2.3 so it may keep me happy for a while.

I'm cleaning up a 2000HD (although no scsi card with HD). It has the A3001 expansion board and it would be fun to run unix on it but fast memory options are a potential problem. At any rate this is more of a tinkering machine for me and a long term work in progress.

I've also secured a 4000D which a host of upgrades already included to make it a very usable 68080 rev 6 system. I consider this a very lucky find and just happy with it as is.

I would dearly love to find a 1000 and a 3000 to complete the big box collection but accepting this might be a longer process to find.

It's surprising how much love I still have for these machines. One big goal I have is to actually learn how to properly program these things, from workbench apps to games. It's amazing what people achieved with so few resources back in the day.

Anyway, looking forward to enagaging with the community here.
