it doesn't actually say anything on the device, i can go plug it in but i cant navigate very well without remote (usb keyboard sorta works a bit)

I have the newer model in the lounge, so I may be able to use it's remote. I can use my Android phone to control the one in my lounge too (app called wd remote... iphone has it also)...

do you know if it works in the same way (that's really what I'm looking for )

no, this is the earlier model(no wifi) other wise I would keep it

remote is on other bay and my lad uses XBMC on his rasberry so its just not needed or worth me buying a new remote.
