I´ve heard a lot about usb and amiga but not so much about what you can actually do with it.

Do all the usb mice and keyboards work? Usb memory sticks? Cameras and cell phones' internal memory is accessible? USB memory card readers such as SD cards can be used? Can you use usb version of competition pro joystick? (just for laughs). Does a wired xbox 360 controller work (and are there any games that have analog controls and that actually can use the thumbsticks)

I reckon you would need drivers for any and all usb devices you try to use with it? Please enlighten me.

I heard the subway is really slow and deneb (for zorro II / zorro iii) is better but you still need at least a 68060 to get reasonable speed.

Both Subway and Deneb are awesome products that support A LOT of USB classes.
So far I only checked and used successfully, USB Keyboard, Mouse, Mass Storage Devices, Multicard Reader and USB to Ethernet adapter.
I don't see a reason why a Cell phone's internal memory will be an issue as most of times is acts like a mass storage device.
Certainly both USB adapters don't have so much power to provide, so an external powered USB HUB is needed for power hungry USB devices (or a +5V mod to the power line).

If you check Poseidon's classes you'll see that a variety of more devices are supported like: Printers, Palm Devices, Serial converters, Midi controller, Camera, Audio adapter (for Deneb only).

It all depends on what your expectations are, cause I don't find Subway slow at all.
If you go with the speccs... Subway is USB 1.1 and bottlenecks due to the clockport bus of the Amiga.
Deneb is ZorroIII DMA USB 2.0 and that's why it's blazingly faster than Subway.

For transfering a normal amount of files/data both solutions are just awesome!
If you wanna transfer 500GB of data though... get ready for a long of wait (especially if you got a Subway) :)

Good question - and answer mfilos - I have been wondering too.

I am thinking of getting a Deneb for my A4000, as the simplest way of getting ethernet on it. That is *if* i can ever get my hands on one! Sadly, haven't heard any news of another production run...

Hmm, could you use a usb floppy drive to read high density pc disks?

You can do this if you plug it in the wrong way round

Otherwise, I have two working ones in my A1200T and A600, It's great in the A600 for example I have a working wireless USB Keypad - cool eh?

Otherwise I've used USB Mice (not all work) USB Keyboard, USB Memory stick, USB DVDRW (This is awesome as it even mounts the CD ready to use) My HTC Desire HD works as Mass Storage and of course USB Card readers and USB Thumb sticks.

On my A4000 with Deneb I use an external HDD for storage in caddy, read/write at 6mb/sec to and from my SCSI drives is pretty slick too!

Also have mini USB2 Hubs to connect extra devices and front USB panels:
