I'm totally new to Amigas, in that I've technically never used one, but I bought an A2000HD with no peripherals even. This is part of a project to eventually get a custom fansubbing setup and experiment with other things before my time. My 2000HD was restored and demonstrated working before I handed over the cash, the issue is it was the case only. I have no qualms about non-vintage materials, the more 'quality of life' improvements I make the better. I'm mostly interested in the SUM USB adapters but they seem sold out EVERYWHERE, are they discontinued? I see there's much cheaper PS2 adapter options but not every USB keyboard has a native 'PS2 over USB pins' mode, how long IS that compatibility list? And vintage keyboards seem expensive.
If the SUM adapters are discontinued I'll be disappointed because I like the idea of a nice modern keyboard with replaceable keycaps, where I swap in custom keycaps with the specific Amiga keys.
So what direction should I be looking to get this thing started?
While were at it, what are my gamepad options here? If I'm reading right, a Sega Genesis controller should work with minor modification?
