Is there any European webshop where you could possibly find a NES Classic Mini console for the suggested retail price? I'm trying to find one for my son's birthday but it doesn't look good.

If you are prepared to pay a fair bit extra there are mini NES on ebay with 700 or 900 games on

Only retailer here, who has them in stock, is asking twice the suggested retail price.

Darned scalpers. I try to never support scalpers but sometimes you just don't have a choice. I recently paid more than three times the original sale price on eBay for a new copy of an out of print game. After I paid for the game, I asked him to be sure to ship in in a box to avoid damage since sellers tend to ship these in bubble envelopes and I've received damaged games that way. The seller had the nerve to say I should ask before buying next time because it costs him more money to ship it! I just paid an outrageously over-priced amount for the game and he's complaining about a couple dollars. The nerve...

At this point, I never expect to get Nintendo hardware when it is first released. They never release enough for the demand that's out there. It's ridiculous that I'm able to buy tons of games and accessories for the Nintendo Switch but I can't find a console. Of course, from some of the issues they've been having, it's probably best that I'll be buying a later unit.

I have "purchased" one here in Denmark all the way back in November last year from one of the big online retailers, and have yet to receive it. Got numerous emails about "delays". The last one from February advising me to cancel my order me straight up, because Nintendo has not shipped enough units to them to fulfill all the purchases and that it also STOPPED producing them (according to this retailer). I still have my order hanging there, hoping to get my unit one day.. :(

I think it's possible to find decent priced units on Ebay sometimes that are not much more expensive then the original price.

Honestly, the only reasons I'm interested in the NES Classic Mini is because of the neat case and the fact that the controllers will also plug into the Wii/Wii-U controllers. I have original hardware that I will game on.

Half-Saint: Not yet. Depends on the local asking price.

Ninendo announced that they will stop producing the NES classic... See the prices rise.

I bet thats because fo the hack, like my Nes Mini over 700 games and the option for sega and N64 games.

They were sold for 69,99€ but looks like all the stores are out of stock. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed but won't get to find out until Tuesday.

As mentioned earlier, they are way over priced now. Hoping to wait it out and hope they drop in price.

For now I purchased a Raspberry Pi Zero and installed it in an empty NES cartridge. Install RetroPie and now you can play NES, SNES, and a bunch of other format.

I too am fortunate enough to play on the originals. Which I prefer.

So if you aren't looking for just that specific system, you have some other options.

@ all please don't price comment.

I have removed 2 ebay price guesstimates

thanks

Ok, let me know how it turns out.
Thanks!

It's a neat piece of retro-ish gear, but honestly I'd just slam a Raspberry Pi into a custom case and get a couple good SNES-like USB controllers, especially as prices are climbing steadily.
I know it's not exactly what you are looking for but the end result will look and probably play better, since you can set custom graphics filters to your hearts content.

AFAIK the NES classic uses a single board ARM-based computer that emulates the NES, so it's essentially the same thing, if more neatly packaged, and with shorter controller cables.

Just a thought.
