Yo.

I picked up this DKB Rapidfire ZorroII SCSI card, but it doesn't appear to have a HDD LED connector. Looking at this board, can anyone help me identify where I would plug in the LED connector, or where I would tap in to get a HDD LED working?

Most SCSI drives have an LED (Actvity) driver

check your SCSI Drive Make/Mode/Manufacture and you will get the pinout for the drive.

please keep in mind that those drives that have an LED Activity PIN will be in 5 volts, so DONT connect up an LED directly, you will need a resistor or you will burn out LED.

for 5 volts driving you will need about 15 - 20k resistor pending on the LED.

The board you have is an eariler revision (revision A) so it might not have had such a connector as standard. The Amiga Resource picture is of a revision C board, perhaps one with optional extra's at the time.

An update:

Going on Zetro's advice, I googled the SCSI hard drive in my A2000. Turns out it does have an LED plug on the PCB, and it has a built in resistor to wind down the 5volt line.

I soldered the HDD LED directly to the drive, and VIOLA! I now have a working HDD LED on the A2000.

Thanks for the input! All appreciated!
