**SOLD**
Hi all,
I've decided that as my kickstarter case isn't too far away now, I'm happy to let my original albeit modified case go.
It's been vinyl-dyed, and the finish is near perfect - as a consequence it will not go yellow again.
Included is the top and bottom shell, the rear and underside trapdoors, a Chinon floppy button, and the 5 screws to close the case. I've put the original Commodore A1200 badge back on, and also the original "made in" sticker on the bottom of the case, and a new set of feet. In terms of modification, there is a clean hole cut for a slim laptop optical drive, and the RF modulator socket has been altered to allow fitting a VGA connector.
Here's a pic showing the colour difference between the inside and outside of the case:
Also included is a set of mounts that can be attached using screws on the rear of the keyboard which in turn allow mounting an optical drive exactly where the hole is cut
I found that because the metal is a little thin, once you've adjusted them sufficiently, use something like a little Sugru to hold the edges to prevent bending. Also included is a DVDROM drive that has had its fascia vinyl-dyed to the same colour as the case - It's EIDE, but you'd need a JAE to EIDE adapter to use it in an Amiga, plus some 1.5mm M2 screws to secure the drive to the mounts. The keyboard is not included.
Ordinarily, the drive sits completely flush with the case, but I've propped it up for the purpose of taking this picture.
Things not included on the case front: The metal floppy drive bracket and screw, the two motherboard mounting screws, the LED board and screws
To make things easier, I'm going to ship it all in an original Commodore A1200 box, which still has the inside box and spacer, as well as the polys. Here's some pictures:
I'm looking for £70 for everything together, plus postage and fees as appropriate - It weighs around 2kg altogether which I should be able to shop within the UK for around £10. Obviously I'll build another box around the outside of the existing one, and put some bubblewrap inside to stop things slopping around.
Best,
Colin
