Why doesn't WinUAE see files in host directories?

OK guys, another winUAE problem.

No matter what I do, when I add a directory on the host as a hard drive on winUAE I cannot see the files in it from inside the emulator.

I can write files into the directory from the emulator (they appear to the host) but even those aren't seen inside the emulator. The drive just appears empty all the time.

I have tried versions 2.3.0, 2.3.2 and 2.3.3 and its the same on each. I have tried directories with different names on different drives. I have tried Workbench 3.1 and AmigaOS 3.9 in the emulator. I have tried ticking pretty much every different option in the emulator. Anyone seen this before and managed to fix it?

hi it maybe because windows dont have seperate icon files. You need to show all files from top bar.

wot john said
open a shell/cli and do a dir or list

or from workbech view all files

then you can search wot .info files are at your lesurie

There is (was?) a bug that if you added a host directory via the WinUAE config window AFTER you'd booted from Workbench that you couldn't see any of the files in the directory. The same was true if you added files from the PC side of things to the directory that WB wouldn't see the new files. The way around it is to add all your directories/files BEFORE starting Workbench and then everything should appear :)
