Windows 10 along side of ubuntu?

I got new Laptop that got ubuntu and I want put Windows 10 on them but it isnt very straight forward.

I have try to resize the hard drive but ubuntu wouldnt let me. it seem to me that i have flash ubuntu or somethings (not clue about that) then go to OS to create new partions to create of windows 10.

The reason why new Laptop got ubuntu is that much cheaper than buying windows 10 laptop.

Pop a windows CD/DVD into the drive, boot up from it. During setup it will ask you where to install Windows (see picture). Simply format or remove any partitions you see listed and don't want to keep then click on Start.



No more Ubuntu!

IF I delete the Primary Partions then format in NTFS then I will be able installed Windows 10?

if you want to just have Windows on your laptop then simply delete all partitions you currently have on-screen. You will then essentially start with a blank drive once you do that (no more Ubuntu). Windows will create it's own partitions as it installs.

Thank you for Helping me MiggyMad and I got the windows 10 up and running. Now I going delete rest of Mircosoft Bloatware crap that I dont need!

you could resize the partition with resize2fs and install windows on the rest. Not sure why you would want it, I have dualboot to Windows but it's just such a hassle to use compared to ubuntu. Can't understand why someone want to subject themself to such a horror. Would suggest running it in a virtual machine so you could have a proper os at your fingertip while tinkering with the toy.

I think the OP just wanted rid of Ubuntu and have Windows 10 installed instead. As they said, the laptop was cheaper to buy as there was no Windows 10 pre-installed, and it seems the OP had their own licensed copy anyway.

Not passing any judgement, to each their own OS, but some also don't want to be be subjected to the tiranny and horrors of the... Sudo ?, or having to use a command line unless absolutely necessary (e.g. Less than once every 15 minutes), being able to install a variety of games, etc.
