Works a Hitek Keyboard (A500) on a A1200?

I know that the connection is different, but is there a chance to use the Hitek Keyboard (mechanical) on an A1200?

I have an old A500 Hitek keyboard in a very good condition and an A1200 with a very „worn“ one.

So I thought - try to connect the best out of two worlds.

Possible?

Compare the matrix on both keyboards. If they are the same and you connect a 31-way ribbon connector from the A500 keyboard to the A1200 mainboard, _and_ if there is nothing hanging on the matrix lines that causes false readings (you might need to remove connection to the A500 decoder) it will work.
