Hi, im asking if this CF cards would be Amiga-compatible

Reason is that they are rather "cheap" (around 30 dollars) and have 4GB

If anybody here has the same working in your Amiga, please let me know

Any feedback, much appreciated
Thanks in advance

Sebastian

PD: what about Transcend, SanDisk and Kodak brands? Are they compatible with Amiga?

Try ONLY SanDisk. They are the best and they are fully compatible with the Amiga.

Yes, and also the most expensive (at least in this lands)
:)

What about the ones in the pics? Any ideas?

I've used a few different kingston brands in my amiga and have been succesful with all but i make no guaruntees.

kingston

kingston

have used a couple of kingston for my A1200 in the past.

Don't believe that there are incompatibles ones to be honest - did not find one

They all work using the same principle, why would some cards not work?

The one and only problem appeared with a PC with the drive speed. (had to select ata 66 manual in bios)

I bought a Transcend (2gb) off ebay it did not work with my Amiga nor did Verbatim (2gb).

I have a 1gb Sandisk that does not work as CF-IDE but does work in a PCMCIA card reader, maybe its a fake one?

I have a 256mb Sandisk that works and a 128mb Crucial working.

A 4GB Sandisk Ultra II in Greece costs no more than 22 euros.

config?

config?

If it would be the same sized cards, I would believe you.

But when I had problems with a card, a recent version of HDTOOLBOX, repartition (experiment) staying under 2g partitions etc always lead to a working cf to be honest, did have for certain more than 10 tested already.

Recently when I installed my A4000, first used workbench 3.0 and even that worked out of the box.. (with a 4GB CF) (small partitions)

---------- Post added at 23:33 ---------- Previous post was at 23:31 ----------

I stayed last time under 512 mb's because I wanted the partitions and an Amiga does not need large sizes.

And here on Amibay some users are warning for a to large workbench partition and failing software too.

I have tried to use a 1GB Kingston CF with my miggy but no luck. On the other hand i've had luck with a lot of "no name" CF cards or less known ones. "Seagate" is one that hasn't given me any problems at all.

Ive used 2GB and 4GB Dane Elec cards, the 2GB in my PCMCIA reader from AmigaKit and the 4GB on the CF>IDE on my main A1200 :) Ill be buying another CF card this weekend, I let you all know the brand and whether it works after I pick it up and get a chance to install it.

could you be more specific

could you be more specific

What goes wrong ?? Is the device found in hdtoolbox?

Most of my cards are transcend 4GB 133x also tested viking 512 MB and kingston 256 MB CARDS. and a 2 GB KINGSTON a 1 GB KINGSTON, they all had some use in my A1200 or A4000 at some point.

Of course the press a a ctrl thing happens once in a while, but that happens with modern hard drives to, because they are being to fast accessed by the amiga.
