Hi,
I've got a beige G3 Apple Power Macintosh G3/333MHz that was working fine before I went on holiday for a week. I've come back and it no longer boots, it doesn't even get to a chime. I get the HD's spinning up, the keyboard lights breifly flash and the power light stays on fine. I've tried replacing the PRAM battery and I've tried to zap the PRAM, but the status is the same. There's lots of reports about this online, but I've not been able to actually find a fix for it that I can implement.
I am looking for someone in the UK who works with Mac's that I can send the motherboard, PSU, ROM and personality card to so they can diagnose and fix the issue (I won't send the case as this might break in transit). It might be the PSU, it could need recapping or it could need a new ROM - I just don't have the skill to recap or the spare parts to swap around to diagnose the issue, but I'd like the machine working as it was always my dream machine from my Mac days in the 90's!
(For anyone that's wondering why I don't just get a replacement main board for it - if it's a recap issue, I'll just have the same issue within a few weeks/months/years again)
Thanks,
AI.
