I've been playing this "new" (2012) game / remake on my PS3 the past week, and my verdict is: What a load of smelling bollocks!

Comparing to the original X-Coms on Amiga (UFO Enemy Unknown), this so called game is ridiculously linear with ZERO variation. The so called tactical combat is nothing but a joke; step around a corner on your last move point? BOOM, five floaters and nine mutons appearing from nowhere, zapping your 25HP mega-major to shrapnel in less than a millisecond.

Sneak / surprise on enemies? Forget it. One step within their point of view and the whole neighborhood wakes up, immediately doing nothing but hiding.

Reaction attacks on moving enemies? Forget it. The enemy moved so s/he gets the first shot.

The list goes on but I stop here. This game was my worst spent £5. Good thing I never bought the full-priced game when it was released; I was thrilled about the trailers, but I got my daughter that year so I never had the time.

As an anti-rage move, I think I will dust of the miggy and launch the Real Deal instead.
