Probably not as stupid as poking with the pair of pliers first - when you can easily shove a flat head screwdriver under the suction cup. Clamp on screwdriver looks like it can flip off at any time - that would be really bad...

I believe Jens came up with a way to use it in a C128... but IIRC it doesn't really fit. ;-) Looking good - I actually needed an 8701 once for a broken computer, nice to have new parts that fits instead of stealing IC:s from other broken computers.

Yes, I remember, it was a pain with all the changes that needed to be done as well, some other version of pins you couldn't fit in the earlier board (or it was very hard to do so). I got it - thicker pins for the crappy sockets. ;-) Looked at it - the thick-pin version looks really weird...
