As I posted in AmiOracle, my Mega CD 2 recently suffered a mishap with an audio cable and now the ends of said audio cable are unfortunately embedded in the line out sockets of the Mega CD unit.
My attempts to remove the debris from the sockets without having to open the console have failed.

Because Nintendo quickly locked up most of the third party developers in their draconian licence system which forbade them releasing the same titles on rival platforms.
There weren't many left to develop for the Master System, hence the large amount of first party games and ports.

Would someone be willing to disable the modchip in my French NES so that I am able to play PAL-A region titles on it please? I don't have any PAL-B carts so at the moment it's not much use.
Happy to pay for the work and the return postage if drop-off/pick-up isn't feasible.
Since the console will still be running at PAL speed so will any NTSC games. Compatibility also isn't 100% due to this timing issue.
Due to the design of the NES nobody has been able to achieve a true multi-region mod.
However some clones can be made true multi-region.
I remember a sticky thread about it, think it might be over on EAB, tried myself a while back with compactflash.device and a Transcend adapter on my 1200 but couldn't get it to play ball with an 8GB card I bought.
Apparently the PCMCIA slot is a lot more fussy about the cards it likes vs an IDE...

Keyboard issues might be down to that homebrew replacement cable. You might have great difficulty sourcing a loose original to replace it with.
