This is exactly why I'm looking for those - I have very high quality copper heatsinks prepared for my rev. 6 68060 and I really don't want to use the thermal adhesive. If I have a properly working clip like that I can use 15W/mk Thermalright pad with it, plus it's far better support for a...
Hi, does anyone know if these are still available somewhere to buy? Or a similar mounting system that would fit 040/060? The ones on the photo were used in a stock A3640 to hold the heatsink.
Hi,
I'm looking for a fully working Phase 5 CyberStorm PPC with 604e clocked at 200/233 MHz to complete my A4000 setup. Ideally with 4 matching 32MB SIMM modules for a total of 128MB FastRAM.
PM me with an offer.
Thank you!
For posterity, if someone else wonders: the correct pin A1 is marked the lower left corner of the right picture - the red box with X. The pinout in the datasheet is bottom view (slightly non-standard, but consistent with other Motorola documents).
I bought a couple from that vendor, they are regular machined LIF (Low Insertion Force) sockets. Standard quality. They were shipped in foam, no bent pins, they look new.
@austinsom that really sucks :( Hopefully you're able to get a full refund from them.
@Aeberbach I'm almost scared to ask, but do they counterfeit 030s as well? :O
Hi!
Apologies if it's something I should know by now, but which one of those is pin A1? X or Y on my image? Also does anyone know if the pinout shown in the datasheet is top or bottom view? It's unfortunately unclear and they only marked it for PLCC version, not PGA. Thanks in advance.
I managed to test the CPU on a custom industrial computer board, since my A3660 is still a no-go. Querying the PCR succeeds and yields 04300602, which is the expected value for Rev6 MC68060. I have no way to test it's frequency tolerance as the board has IC clock generator that can't be easily...
I received mine today, unfortunately it seems that my A3660 is broken. It refuses to boot with it's original CPU, I need to diagnose and repair it. It's the only 060 hardware I currently own that has the CPU socketed so I can't test the chip at the moment :(
It's suspicious that a E41J chip...
Thanks for the replies. I'm aware of the article Aeberbach has cited. Also, unfortunately it seems that some vendors mix genuine dies with fakes, but it seems like this one has a pretty high success ratio. I'll risk it and report how it went.
Hi,
Has anyone tried buying MC68060RC50 mask 71E41J from funkward-tech on eBay? The photos look remarkably similar to a legit chip I own and he has only positive feedback on very high volume (290 chips sold) on that auction, but it's a Chinese supplier. Here's the particular listing I was...
