If your STf has 1.00 now you should upgrade to 1.02 or 1.04. However, if it already has 1.02 I suggest you keep it that way. 1.02 is the safest choise for gaming.

I disassembled the floppy drive this evening. The heads were stuck due to hardened grease on the axle. Once I freed it the drive sort of worked. It has problems aligning the heads but after a couple of resets it suddenly works... I will look into my stash of...
I have an A500 which is in reasonably good shape. It still has it's original colour and a 512Kb expansion card with RTC. But the trapdoor and expansion port covers are missing, and the floppy drive is broken (constant read errors). Is it worth fixing? What would a replacement floppy drive cost me?
I'm a 40 year old Norwegian who had an Amiga 500 briefly in the late 80's. My primary interest is Atari computers (I have a number of high-spec Ataris including a FireBee) but I also have a couple of Amigas and various 8-bits. The Amigas (500 & 600) are used exclusively for gaming.
