I just got done digging through a giant gaylord full of Dell 2001FPs that had been e-wasted. I had to test each and every one because it's mostly a crapshoot whether you're going to find a rev that does 15k or one where they patched it out. Even then, it's 15k isn't great as it forgets the...
I'm only after a kit anyway. Does a service exist where you could just sell blank boards, have the service handle all the red tape, and still get something out of it?
lol @ $48 shipping to the US
I looked at Vesalia (they have them too) and I have a bad feeling it's going to be almost as ridiculous (they don't tell you US shipping up front).
If those shipping costs are going to be unavoidable then I'm definitely going to need to get the membrane only...
I'll take a whole keyboard too, but I've got one with a busted membrane here and ideally I'd like to replace just that. Amigakit used to have them, but ran out some time ago.
I have a C64 graveyard, but I've only worked on two Spectrums and it's hard to say which are more unreliable... I did work on a toastrack 128 that had the usual blown transistor issues, and my +2B sometimes acts really weird, but being in America I'll take what I can get Spectrum-wise.
At least...
The one on the PSU. It doesn't have to just be the connector - I'll take the molded one and it's associated cable too as long as it's been desoldered from the PSU's PCB or cut off close to it.
He might not want to part with them, as he doesn't sell them separate. Does mechware have any more? Is he still around? I can't remember if he finally ran out or not.
You know, the kind used on the A500/600/1200/C128. They've become a real pain to find lately.
I'd love to get one of those NOS black connectors, but I'll take what I can get.
If you still have the bad button board, you should be able to replace the dome switch actuators - they're literally taped to the board and are identical to the ones used in Atari 2600 joysticks.
