Just as information: both Apollo and Blizzard 1240 can be upgraded to 1260.
As far as I know, all Blizzard can be upgraded without much hassle (replace the CPU, move a jumper or install a new voltage regulator and boot the card memory just once) and can be overclocked up 66MHz.
Apollo boards are a very different beast: they need to have MACH 131 chips instead older 130 versions, the ROM must be replaced with a larger new one with the proper code and the 040 must then be de-soldered from board. The rest is almost easy... yeah...
