The kit allows 1 MB of RAM (2 x 512KB chips). It gets mapped as Ranger Memory (slow fast) but it does speed up the Amiga from 0.60 MIPS to about 1.5 MIPS (@14 MHz). I just finished building my kit i received last week along with the additional parts I ordered from Digikey to add the Memory and Memory Disable functionality. It's a nice kit and works great on all Kickstarts. This was also my first SMD kit build. The extra parts to add the 1 MB of Memory cost around $25 CAD (2x Memory I.Cs, extra logic chips and timer I.C). I definitely would recommend this kit to anyone that wants to give their Amiga 500 a modest boost in performance while retaining older Software compatibility. It was also fun to build.
