the item arrived today, thanks very much indeed. Just as advertised.

Can you tell me which carrier you used? Is it called "ukmail.com"? Seems to be much faster and cheaper than Royal Mail.

One last question: The joysticks aren't fully working, you can't move upwards. Is that a common issue with this type of joystick, which, as far as I know, has a pretty bad reputation?

Hi,

Yes the Courier I used was UK Mail. I'm not sure what price is available to the general pubic for their service though as I have an account with them which helps keep the cost down.

The joysticks were both fully working moments before the machine was packaged. Is it that both joysticks do no go up? If this is the case then it would most likely point to a bad connection either with the cable or the joystick socket on the TI as the sticks are wired in together this seems more likely than failure of the contacts in the sticks. If it is just one stick then I would suggest taking a look inside the stick itself and cleaning the relevant contact.

I tested the joysticks on another TI-99/4A unit I own, but the problem stays the same, no upward movement on both of them with several different cartridges. Good news actually, I'd say, as it's no problem with the computer itself. It's really in pristine condition.
Can you recommend another type/brand of joystick for the TI?
I am also interested in the Atari 8-bit line (excluding the XEs), do you have anything on offer for these machines?

Wico made a line of joysticks for the TI and they also made an adaptor so that you could use Atari standard sticks. I have a friend who could perhaps make one of these for you and I will ask him later for you.
