Which one exactly are you looking for?

  • MOS Technology 6569 – (PAL-B, used in most PAL countries)
  • MOS Technology 6572 – (PAL-N, used in southern South America only)
  • MOS Technology 6573 – (PAL-M, used in Brazil only)
  • MOS Technology 8565 – HMOS-II version for "C64E" motherboards
  • MOS Technology 8566 – VIC-II E (PAL-B) C128 version
  • MOS Technology 8569 – VIC-II E (PAL-N) C128 version

Hi.

Not quite sure, but when seeing this list i would probably need MOS Technology 6569.

Gonna stick them in c64 that has been sold in Norway.

Thanks.

C64c.

Didnt know there was a difference.
Very big difference.

A breadbin from France, germany or the UK uses the 6569 which requires 5Vdc/12Vdc.

Your computer likely requires the 8565 which will operate only on 5Vdc.

Also, inside your C64c, you may have board 250466 which is a sort of hybrid mainboard which happens to use the 6569 and is the same size as a breadbin mainboard but uses a pair of 41464 DRAM chip like later generations of mainboards.

The vast majority of C64c have board 250469 (aka 64e) which is smaller and uses the 8565 VIC-II.

Its important you know exactly which one you need. If you simply say "I have a C64c" and buy the 8565 but it so happens the board inside your C64c is a 250466 then the 12V source will destroy your VIC-II.

If you get a 6569 and try to run it on a board 250469, you just won't get any image.
