Testvideo
To the video: The Servant DiskTools Disk copier handled the 128 KB system RAM + 64 KB VDC RAM = 192 KB.
1 normal 1 side disk = 35 tracks = 683 blocks. 1 block = 256 bytes, 683 blocks = 174848 bytes = 170,75 KB.
It's possible to read a full disk side with 1 operation. The Servant program works in the ROM. The 1571 format disk 2 sides.
Altogether 61 chips in the C128 motherboard (+U36 empty socket).
12 chips in socket originally, and not 49 chips in socket originally.
Altogether 20 chips in the 1571 motherboard.
2 chips in socket originally, and not 18 chips in socket originally.
Hard work (25-30 hours) to put 67 chips into socket.
The motherboards is repairable easily, and may work until decades yet.

JiffyDOS is an enhanced Disk Operating System (DOS) for Commodore C-64, SX-64, and C-128 computers. Programmed onto ROMs that replace the Kernal ROM(s) in your computer and the DOS ROM in your disk drive, JiffyDOS provides the speed, commands and convenience missing on stock systems. Because it is ROM-based, JiffyDOS becomes an integral part of your system, and is able to provide performance without the compatibility
problems of Cartridges and other speed-enhancement systems.
